My Eternal Love Anniversary Quilt is a gem-inspired design that honours 20 years of A Needle Pulling Thread Magazine with meaning and elegance.

It was included in ANPTmag Issue 70

A green, turquoise and white quilt
Eternal Love

Symbolizing growth, harmony, and lasting commitment, the quilt features emerald tones and platinum accents across three striking blocks assembled into a 48½” x 48½” layout.

Versatile for use as a lap quilt, table topper, or wall quilt, it includes step-by-step piecing instructions and is suitable for all skill levels.
The pattern also features my original “Happy Asterverstarry” free-motion quilting motif instructions, inspired by the traditional 20th anniversary flower, making this a meaningful and creative celebration.

Did you think I forgot you?

Oh no, not me, this is a special anniversary you see!

In 2017 I began creating a series of new free motion quilting designs for a new class I would be teaching entitled “Inspiration To Design”.

I was stumped on what to name the first design so on May 7, 2017,
I posed the question on Facebook and Instagram ....
What do you think this new Free Motion Quilting design should be named ?

There was an overwhelming response, the names were fabulous and everyone had such fun that I’ve been posting a new design each week ever since.

Free Motion Quilting on Wool - A New Class Sample

Free Motion Quilting Fancy Feathers on wool
Quilting Unusual Fabric (wool) and Building Fancy Feathers

This recent finish was created as a dual sample for my classes Quilting Unusual Fabrics and Building Fancy Feathers.

It is free motion quilted on Marino Wool.

Threads are both from WonderFil Specialty Threads, Accent for the feather and FabuLux for the background quilting.

Batting is two layers of Hobbs Tuscany Wool on top of one layer of bonded cotton.

Quilting Unusual Fabrics

Did you know that you can use more than cotton for quilting?

Wool, Linen, Knits, Denim, Satin and Vinyl are just a few of the specialty fabrics I love to quilt.

Each of these fabrics behaves quite differently.

Some can be used to make make beautiful quilts while others can be used for items such as handbags, clothing and home décor.

This series of virtual sessions will address fabric stabilization, needle, thread and batting choices for successfully quilting these unusual fabrics.

Next session starts June 5, 2021

Please click on the virtual classes tab at the top of this page for further information.

Building Fancy Feathers

Feather Quilting has a timeless beauty that perfectly suits both the most Classic or Modern quilt and everything in between.

In this virtual class we will go beyond the basic feather as students learn how to design and stitch fancy building feathers that will add the wow factor to any quilt.

Please click on the virtual classes tab at the top of this page for further information.

New free motion quilting design of falling leaves
New Free Motion Quilting Design #214

Inspiration comes in many forms and from many places.

I love to teach Free Motion Quilting and all it’s nuances.

It is my belief that it's not enough to teach a series of designs without giving my students the tools that they need to use what they’ve learned.

This design was inspired by my desire to include examples of some small, easy to finish free motion quilting projects in my classes on both technique and design.

What do you think this new Free Motion Quilting design should be named ?
