This event will take place at The International Centre from Oct 26 to 28 with classes starting on the 25th.
My classes are;
SWEET AND SIMPLE 60 DEGREE TRIANGLE QUILT
Sixty
degree triangles are simple to cut in a wide variety of sizes using nothing
more than a rotary cutter and your basic 24” quilting ruler. The design
possibilities for this one shape are endless. Use all scraps for an old
fashioned look, all floral prints for a riot of color or how about modern
brights and neutrals. Even make this out of neutral tone on tones and use as a
background for appliqué. Come and enjoy the fun as Julie shows you how to cut and
assemble this all-time favorite quilt.
Hands On 3 Hour Workshop Thu 9:00 to 12:00
HOW DO I QUILT MY QUILT?
Many patterns and books
finish with the phrase “Quilt as Desired” leaving today's quilter unsure of how
to finish their project. This class will address the decision making process
quilters must go through to help them finish their quilts. The choice of
quilting design, thread, needles and batting as well as how to preview and mark
designs will be covered. A class jam packed with tips, tricks and information.
Bring: A quilt for quilting advice and interactive group discussion.
2 Hour
Interactive Demo Thurs 1:00 – 3:00

with little or no marking and minimal experience. In this hands-on class we
will explore the basics of moving your fabric and rulers to create a variety of
fun designs.

FAT ¼’S JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN
Our pretty little
bundles of fat ¼’s have been sitting around the sewing room long enough.
Now
they want to get out and have some fun! Fast and easy cutting and piecing
techniques will turn these lovelies into quilts, bags, scarves, bed runners and
more.
Let’s empty those storage bins as we party with our fat quarters!
2 Hour Lecture/Demo Sat 9:00 –11:00
10 ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS THINGS TO DO WITH PRE-CUTS
Pre-cuts include fat ¼’s, 2 ½” strip sets like, charm packs of 5” squares, 10”
charm packs and even triangles and hexagons. They are fun to collect, to trade
and give as gifts. Let’s explore some great ways to use your stash of pre-cuts
so that you can buy more without “guilt”.
Placemats, pillows, table runners and
of course, quilts are just some of the “fabulous” things we can do with
pre-cuts.
2 Hour Lecture/Demo Sat 1:00 – 3:00

Good Afternoon Julie!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your seminars at the creative festival -Saturday 28 October. I have a baby quilt to make and I found the fabric at the festival and want to do it according to your instructions you mentioned that day.
Both seminars had my mind buzzing with so many ideas to use material and make items to give away - presents for Christmas.
I hope that you are having a good weekend.
