Julies Name Game - New Free Motion Quilting Design #55

As you may have noticed our Name Game Design for last week went "missing"!
I have a non-quilting related injury that is however not allowing me to be at the sewing machine.
As a result there is a contest going over on Facebook and Instagram for a prize basket of fun goodies.
Make sure you check it out!

You can't however keep a quilter down for long so here is this weeks new Free Motion Quilting design for you to name and stitch.

This design will be named by popular vote on Sunday April 1 at 6:00 PM (Pacific).

After much lively debate this new free motion quilting design has been named "Butterfly Kisses".
Thank you to Carole Thornton of Parksville B.C.

Follow these steps to stitch this design.
(Photos to come when I am back at the machine).

This design is almost completely stitched with round and oval loops.
Think small o's and e's in cursive writing!

Start by doing two playful loops (o's) one to the left and one to the right.
(In either order)
These will make the design somewhat playful and allow you to travel for an all over design.
Now add an oval (cursive e) at the top of your travelling line.

This loop should be larger than the loops in your travelling line.
You can make this loop to the right or left, whichever direction feels most natural to you. The rest of the design will continue to loop in the same direction.
In this example I went to the right so the next loop will  also go to the right.

Note that the second loop is also on the right side of the first one.
If I had started this portion of the design with a loop to the left then the whole design would also be rotating to the left.

Next we will add two slightly smaller loops.

OK ... Now we're getting there!
At this point your needle would be right in the center of the design.

Keeping your loops going in the same direction add a little loop inside the first one you stitched.
Now add a little loop inside the second loop you stitched.
You could keep going for the next two loops but to make the design a little faster and easier to stitch we are going to put the little antennas on instead. To do this go right up the center of your design and add a little curved line coming out the top left between the first two loops.
Depending on the size your are stitching this and the thickness of your thread you can either do a tiny circle at the top of the antenna or just pause your hands so that the needle goes up and down for an extra stitch or two.
Stitch down the same line and repeat for the second antenna then stitch down through the center.
You are back at the beginning.
Loop to either the right or left to travel.
Add a second loop in the opposite direction and repeat.
Try NOT to be all the same.
The more different they are the more whimsical the design will be!
